1 cup oatmeal                            

1/2 cup cornmeal                                

1/2 cup dried lavender buds

 

Process oatmeal in a food processor until finely ground. Add remaining ingredients and process until well blended. Store in an airtight container.

 

To Use: Fill a small draw-string muslin bag with about 2 tablespoons of the mixture. Place under faucet while running the water for your bath. You can also toss the bag into the bath water and rub it on your skin while bathing.

Corn Chowder Mix For Two from: Quick Gifts From the Kitchen

 

6 tablespoons instant mashed potato flakes

2 tablespoons instant nonfat dry milk

2 teaspoons imitation bacon bits

2 teaspoons dried celery flakes

 

In a small bowl, combine all ingredients. Recipe makes about 2/3 cup of mix. Place in a small plastic zipper-type bag.

 

Additional ingredients: One (8 oz.) can cream style corn

 

To give as a gift, place plastic bag of mix inside a paper gift bag, along with the can of corn. Punch two holes about 1 inch apart near the top edge of the bag. Insert ribbon or raffia through the holes, with the ends extending out the front, attach cooking instruction tag and tie ribbon into a bow.

1 cup instant nonfat dry milk

2/3 cup white chocolate baking chips

3 tablespoons vanilla flavor powdered coffee creamer

 

Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender and process until finely ground. Place mix in a small zipper-type bag. Recipe makes about 1-1/2 cups mix (about 4 servings).

 

To prepare: In a microwave-safe mug, microwave 1 cup of water on high power for 1 to 1-1/2 minutes or until hot. Stir in about 1/3 cup of mix.

To give as a gift, place 1/3 cup of mix inside a small zipper-type bag. Place bag of mix inside a cellophane gift bag and tie the top closed with ribbon. Place inside a 12-ounce, microwave-safe mug. Write the cooking instructions on a small tag and attach it to the ribbon. Or write the instructions on a recipe card and tuck inside the mug with the mix. 

1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules

1 teaspoon instant minced onion

1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt

Dash of ground black pepper

To Prepare: Empty mix into a small saucepan. Add 1 cup of water, 2 teaspoons butter or margarine and one 8 oz. can of cream style corn. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Cover and simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Makes two servings.

2 tablespoons powdered milk

For a gift, place several muslin draw-string bags of bath tea in a cellophane bag and tie closed with ribbon. Add instructions for use.
